GenieGrips® Loading Mirror FAQ
Will GenieGrips® Loading Mirrors fit my forklift?
GenieGrips® Loading Mirrors are suitable for 1 to 12 ton forklifts, and in some cases, larger models.
Are GenieGrips® Loading Mirrors easy to attach to the mast of my forklift?
Yes very easy, it takes a couple of minutes per side as per the installation instructions.
Are GenieGrips® Loading Mirrors easy to adjust?
Yes, with a variety of settings, GenieGrips® Loading Mirror can extend from 21.5 centimetres to 52 centimetres.
Can I move or adjust GenieGrip®s Loading Mirror brackets once in position?
Once the metal bracket is attached with double sided tape, it may be damaged if forcibly removed. Replacement tape is available at a small cost.
I have an obstruction on my mast, which may make it difficult to attach the bracket at the right height.
The ideal height from ground level to the centre of the mounting bracket is 120 centimetres, but it can be 25 centimetres higher or 20 centimetres lower, to avoid mast obstructions. Contact our support team for assistance / advice. Email sales@geniegrips.com.au
Once installed, does GenieGrips® Loading Mirrors work for drivers of all heights?
Yes. The field of view offered accommodates drivers of all heights.
I work in cool rooms and/or cold conditions. Will this affect GenieGrips® Loading Mirrors’ performance.
In these situations, we recommend that you purchase some anti-fog wipes or spray to avoid mirror condensation build up. Contact our support team for assistance / advice. Email sales@geniegrips.com.au
Is it complicated to set the four clutches, which are attached to the two mirrors?
Each clutch has an adjustable winged knob and easily identifiable reference markings, so they are very easy to set at the required viewing angle.
What happens if I hit something with the mirror?
We strongly recommend that drivers exercise due care when operating forklifts, to avoid impact with either pedestrians or objects. In the event that contact occurs, the patented clutch system allows the mirror to fold forward or backwards, depending on the direction of the impact.
If the external (parabolic) mirror gets hit or accidently moved, do I have to reset the clutches?
No, the clutches have a memory which is set on installation and so the mirrors will always return to that position.
Can I order spare parts online, such as mirrors/lenses?
Yes all parts are kept in stock and are easy to fit. Contact our support team for assistance / advice. Email sales@geniegrips.com.au
What should I clean the lens with?
We recommend windex, methylated spirits or soapy water and a soft rag.
